Cricklade Community Awards

The Community Awards are held every year in Cricklade to honour those residents who have gone that extra mile. We know there are many people in Cricklade who deserve to be recognised for their hard work and, towards the end of each year, Cricklade Town Council invite you to submit nominations for three categories:

Young Person of the Year

Cricklade Community Award

Community Group of the Year

Councillors decide who are the most deserving of those nominated and the winners are announced, and presented with certificates, at the Annual Town Meeting held in April.

The Town Council has received your nominations for the Community Awards 2017. The closing date for nominations was 2nd February 2018.

The 2016 Young Person of the Year award went to William Hebberd, an Explorer Scout and Fire Cadet, who has achieved his Chief Scouts Gold Award and undertaken Young Leader training. William helps with many fundraising activities and community events.

The 2016 Cricklade Community Award winner was Jeremy Anderson who, through fundraising events, raised over £7,000 to provide community defibrillators. These are located on Hallsfield, at Culverhay Stores and the Cricklade Rugby Football Club.

The 2016 Community Group of the Year was awarded to the Cricklade Link Scheme. This group of hardworking volunteers provides much needed transport and other services for people in our community who would otherwise struggle to get to hospital appointments, do their shopping and make repairs at home etc.
